Went to public schools in Corona, Queens and to Saint Francis Xavier High School in Manhattan. My family arrived in the United States from Greece at the start of the 20th century. They owned and operated a bar, Harry’s Bar and Grill on 52nd street in Manhattan. It was a hangout for the Associated Press reporters and the musicians and dancers from Radio City.

Winters in New York and summers on a family owned farm in East Setaucket, was the playground of my childhood.
